Fusa Cave Ruins

This cave is a horizontal limestone cave developed in limestone. It has a total length of 230 meters, and human and animal bones and pottery from the Jomon period were unearthed during excavations.

Cherry blossom corridor (lined with cherry blossom trees along National Route 397)

National Route 397 is lined with cherry blossom trees for approximately 7km, and is known both inside and outside the city as the ``Cherry Blossom Corridor.'' Kawasaki fence ruins

In 1056, during the War of Nine Years, Abe Sadato set up his troops to attack the imperial army Minamoto no Yoriyoshi at the Kawasaki Palisade, which is now known as Kawasaki Village. It is assumed. Ishikurayama Forest Plaza

A plaza at the top of Mt. Ishikura. From the observation deck, you can see a panoramic view of Ichinoseki City and mountains such as Mt. Kurikoma and Mt. Murone. The area has a grassy field and playground equipment. There are also toilets, a kitchen, and an outdoor stage, which can be used for camping. There are approximately 1,000 cherry trees, including Yoshino cherry trees, in the vicinity, which bloom all at once in the spring.

Mt. Murone

Mt. Murone is a mountain rich in nature and has been designated as a national recreation area and a prefectural natural park. Mt. Murone is home to a large number of wild azaleas, and it is said that there are tens of thousands of them, and in June, especially at the top of the mountain, a carpet of bright red azaleas blooms all at once. It is also an independent peak, offering a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Iwate in the distance. It has plenty of leisure facilities such as an astronomical observatory and a campground, and is also famous as a sacred mountain with a history such as Murone Shrine.

Murone Shrine

Murone Shrine is located at the 8th station of Mt. Murone, and is dedicated to two shrines: ``Hongu'' and ``Shingu.'' Approximately 1,290 years ago, a branch spirit was enshrined at Kishu Kumano Taisha Shrine in Wakayama Prefecture by Azuma Ono as a place of prayer for the Ezo subjugation, and since then it has been revered as the guardian of the communities around Mt. Murone, and it is said that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro and Minamoto no Yoshitsune have also prayed here. It has been. At the Murone Shrine Special Festival, mikoshi from two shrines compete to be the first to arrive and run down Mt. Murone. There are also 33 Kannon statues enshrined on the grounds.

MAPS Paragliding School

As an independent peak, Mt. Murone's moderate altitude difference and strong updrafts make it suitable for paragliding and hang gliding. The road to the top is open, making it convenient for transporting aircraft. There is also a permanent school, so even beginners can easily enjoy it. Additionally, the Murone Sky Festival is held every May at the summit of Mt. Murone, attracting many sky enthusiasts from all over the country.

Himetaki

Himetaki, located halfway up the Mt. Murone mountain trail, is a small spring filled with spring water from Murone Shrine that looks like stretched white silk. The branch spirit of Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, one of the three Kumano Sanzan shrines, is enshrined there, and it is worshiped next to Himetaki as ``Takimiya''. There is also ``Ashitoyama Kagoiwa'' nearby.

Hometown Nature Park Center

The Furusato Nature Park Center is located at the 9th station of Mt. Murone and is a facility that introduces the nature of Mt. Murone. Inside, the flora and fauna of Mt. Murone are exhibited, and you can also enjoy bird watching. In addition, in the training room, we will use a large screen to introduce the great nature of Mt. Murone through video.

Kirara Muroneyama Observatory

Kirara Muroneyama Observatory is an astronomical observatory located on the south side of the summit of Mt. Murone. Equipped with a 50cm diameter reflecting telescope called ``Canopus'' and a 15cm diameter refracting telescope, you can see the sun during the day and many stars and nebulae at night. In addition, planetary models and astronomical photographs are displayed in the training room, which attracts many astronomical enthusiasts and their families.
