Shigaku Ski Resort

The area around the foot of Mt. Shigaku is being developed as an outdoor activity zone. Mt. Chokai can be seen from Mt. Shigaku, which is 563 meters above sea level, and the ski slopes at the ski resort are generally short, but there are steep and gentle slopes, making it enjoyable for the whole family, from advanced skiers to beginners. There is one bowler lift. There is also a 2.5km cross-country course.

Japanese paper mache

Washi paper mache, a traditional Japanese method, is used to create colorful and cute dolls such as the 12 Zodiac series and the ``Shishiodori'', a local performing art from southern Iwate Prefecture. It has been handed down in the Hanamaki region since ancient times as a toy that brings good luck to a wealthy family, and it is also gaining popularity as a Hanamaki souvenir.

Hiruyama skunk cabbage colony

A colony of skunk cabbage over 3ha. There is also a walking path, so you can enjoy skunk cabbage nearby while taking a stroll. (The walking path is a wetland area and may be muddy in some areas, so please be careful with your shoes and clothing.) As this is private property, please be respectful when visiting. Seyama ware

It is made from high-quality white clay harvested from Seyamazawa near his home, and specializes in folk art-style flower vases, tea utensils, and decorative plates.It is characterized by deep green glaze, blue gosu glaze, and milestone ripples. It is also unique in that it is based on Kenji Miyazawa's work ``Night on the Galaxy Express.''

Yajidai Park Campsite

A campsite surrounded by forests and greenery. There are hot spring facilities nearby and Jumbo Slide, which is popular with children, making it a great place for families to enjoy.
