Hiraizumi Cultural Heritage Center

On April 14, 2009, Hiraizumi Town integrated the Hiraizumi Local Museum and the Town Cultural Heritage Center to open the Hiraizumi Cultural Heritage Center. As a guidance facility that provides an easy-to-understand introduction to Hiraizumi's cultural heritage, and as a visitor center for sightseeing in the town, it introduces a wide range of Hiraizumi's history and culture.

Shiratoritate ruins

The Shiratoritate ruins are located north of Chusonji and are said to be the remains of the castle where Abe Yoritoki's eighth son, Shiratori Hachiro Noritoto, lived. It is an important ruin related to the Abe clan, which wielded power in the late 11th century, and tells the historical background of the surrounding area before Hiraizumi was formed.

Yanagi no Gosho ruins

The Yanaginogosho ruins, which are said to have been built by the first generation Kiyohira and redeveloped by the third generation Hidehira, are highly likely to correspond to Heisenkan (government office).

Kitayamazaki Visitor Center

Tsukihama banya group

The Tsukihama Banya group was selected as one of the ``100 historical and cultural assets of fishing villages that we want to preserve for the future.'' Natsuyu Valley

Natsuyu Valley is located in the upper reaches of the Natsuyu River and is known as a famous spot for autumn leaves. During the fall foliage season, the prefectural road leading to the secret hot spring, Natsuyu Onsen, is bustling with activity. After viewing the autumn leaves, it is fun to soothe your fatigue in the open-air bath along the mountain stream.

Oshu Space Museum

Oshu Space Museum, which utilizes the former main building of the Latitude Observatory, is now open on the grounds of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan's Mizusawa VERA Observatory. We have a corner introducing the history of the Latitude Observatory and its relationship with Kenji, as well as a ``4-dimensional digital space theater'' developed by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan that allows you to view astronomical images in 3D.
