Kusashido

Nanbu Shizome has been known as Iwatene Murasaki since the Kamakura period, and was protected and encouraged after the reign of Morioka Harujo by Lord Nobunao Nambu. It was dyed using high-quality, abundant purple grass roots that grow naturally in the mountains, a unique dyeing technique, and simple squeezing in large, small, and standing tubs, and it came to be called Nanbu Murasaki.

Hiraizumi Cultural Heritage Center

On April 14, 2009, Hiraizumi Town integrated the Hiraizumi Local Museum and the Town Cultural Heritage Center to open the Hiraizumi Cultural Heritage Center. Shiratoritate ruins

The Shiratoritate ruins are located north of Chusonji and are said to be the remains of the castle where Abe Yoritoki's eighth son, Shiratori Hachiro Noritoto, lived. Yanagi no Gosho ruins

The Yanaginogosho ruins, which are said to have been built by the first generation Kiyohira and redeveloped by the third generation Hidehira, are highly likely to correspond to Heisenkan (government office).

Kitayamazaki Visitor Center

After viewing the autumn leaves, it is fun to soothe your fatigue in the open-air bath along the mountain stream.

Oshu Space Museum

Oshu Space Museum, which utilizes the former main building of the Latitude Observatory, is now open on the grounds of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan's Mizusawa VERA Observatory. Iwate Hanamaki Airport

Iwate Hanamaki Airport is located in the center of the prefecture, approximately 30 km south of Morioka.
