Komagatake
Located on the border of Kanegasaki Town and Kitakami City, Mt. Komagatake, located at the northern end of the Yakineki Federation, which rises from the Isawa Plain to the west, has been known as a mountain of worship since ancient times, and the Komagata Shrine Okumiya is enshrined at the top. Although there is no mountain opening event, the general season runs from early May when the snow remains until early November when the leaves turn red. It is home to a variety of plants, and the spectacular fresh green beech forests, larch plantations, and alpine plants such as the Japanese trumpet, purple palm, silver hyacinth, and Japanese staghorn plant delight climbers. The view from the summit is spectacular, with a 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Iwate and the mountains of the Waga region in the distance to the north, as well as the Natsuyu Kogen Ski Resort, the Yakiishi Mountain Range such as Mt. Ushigata and Mt. Kyozuka, and Mt. Hayachine. The time it takes to climb is approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.
