Ennen dance

It is dedicated to the gods and Buddha during the festival of Matara God on the 20th day of the new year (20th night festival) following the regular ritual of the Sanmiku. It is also intended to praise the guardian deity of the world. Ennen means to extend one's age, or live a long life, and it came to be used as a general term for the songs and dances performed by monks after Buddhist services at major temples, and became popular from the Heian period to the Muromachi period. It was held on. The Ennen dance at Motsuji Temple has been designated as a national important cultural property because it conveys the elegant atmosphere and old style of the Heian period. In addition to the 20th Night Festival, parts of it are also open to the public during the spring and autumn Fujiwara Festival, Ayame Festival, and Hagi Festival. Mill Miru House

Located at the confluence of National Routes 340 and 395, this facility not only sells special products from Karumai Town and sells agricultural products directly, but also serves as a restaurant and rest area. Ohira Park

Ozaki Peninsula

Located on the south side of Kamaishi Bay, there is a nature trail from Ozaki Shirahama fishing port to Ozaki Lighthouse. Along the course, there are places such as Ozaki Shrine Okunoin, where Yamato Takeru no Mikoto is enshrined. A considerable number of fir trees can be seen growing naturally on the peninsula, but beech trees can also be seen along with these firs, and it is said that it is especially rare in Japan to see a forest growing wild at the same time.

Hidejima

The island has a circumference of 1,800m, a highest point of 50m, and an area of ​​12,395 square meters. It was designated as a national natural monument in 1933 as a breeding ground for the black-throated petrel. Landing on the island is prohibited, so the tour will be from the Miyako Jodogahama Pleasure Boat.

Iwate University Museum

This building was used as a library during his time at Morioka High School of Agriculture and Forestry, and is also the site where Kenji Miyazawa absorbed knowledge such as biology, mineralogy, literature, and art while attending the school. Here, we will introduce research achievements that have contributed to the region, such as livestock disease water use and environmental measures (Faculty of Engineering) that the university has been working on over the past 100 years, as well as archaeological materials related to the Jomon period, Isawa Castle, Tokutan Castle, Shiba Castle, etc. Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education), etc. are on display and open to the public (permanent exhibition room). Kabuto Myojindake

As you head east from Morioka on National Route 106, you can see a particularly high rocky peak above the Kukai Plateau called Kabuto Myojindake (1,005m above sea level). It takes about 1 hour and is an easy hike. A popular loop course is the one that climbs straight up the northern ridge from the Kukai Kogen Walking Center. If you follow the single road surrounded by larch and birch trees, you will reach the junction with Mt. Miharuyama. Hype Koikorobe Cretaceous Fossil Locality

The Cretaceous fossil production area of ​​Hype and Koikorobe, which was designated as a natural monument by Iwate Prefecture in 1966, contains many important index fossils such as ammonites, triangular shells, and corals. You can see it from the Kitayamazaki sightseeing boat that departs from Shimagoshi Port.

Kuji Stream

A tourist spot rich in nature that has been designated as Kuji Hiraniwa Prefectural Natural Park. The fresh greenery in the spring and the autumn leaves in the fall are both spectacular and a place for people to relax. Near Kagami-iwa is the famous water ``Furōsen'', which has been selected as one of Iwate's top 20 waters, and there is a legend that drinking it will cure chronic diseases and lead to eternal youth and longevity. Enjoji Gate

This gate was originally made from the materials used for the main gate of Waga Futago Castle. Around 1614, the then lord of Hanamaki Castle, Nanbu Hikokuro Masanao, was working on constructing Hanamaki Castle, and he salvaged the materials and used the Sannomaru Karame handiwork. It was relocated to Enjoji-zaka, where it was originally located, and is called Enjoji-mon. It has been designated as a cultural property by the city.
