Imamatsu pit dwelling ruins

Remains of a residence from the late Nara period. It was found that they already ate rice as their staple food and used iron tools, and many grave goods were unearthed from the ruins of their dwellings. A historic site designated by Iwate Prefecture .

Eboshi Rock

An eboshi-shaped rock floating on the Tamagawa coast, located south of the Jufugaura coast. The sight of sushi sticking out of the blue ocean is one of the most scenic spots on the Tamagawa coast, which is lined with strangely shaped rocks.

Pass Station Shiwa Furusato Center Restaurant Grape Tree

Located along National Route 396, the restaurant ``Budo no Ki'' offers a menu that makes use of local ingredients, and its fruit ice cream made with locally produced grapes, pears, and apples is especially popular. We also have seasonal ice creams with fukinoto, cherry blossom, strawberry, and mugwort.

Yurin Land Taneyama

Taneyamagahara was loved by Kenji Miyazawa. ``Yurin Land Taneyama'' has an observation deck with a 360-degree view and a Japanese-style room where you can relax after a walk, supporting your stay in the highlands.

Namshoso

Yasugoro Yorikawa, a businessman from Morioka, built it as a residence around 1888, and the garden took several years to complete. It has a strolling garden with a pond, and has been visited by many famous people, including Takashi Hara. A protected garden and important landscape building in Morioka City. The garden is registered as a national monument.

Mt. Eboshi

A 3 hour uphill and 2 hour downhill course with repeated ups and downs from Takinoue Onsen. The name of the mountain comes from its protruding shape like an eboshi. It is located on a ridge that runs from Komagatake to Hachimantai, with a vertical rock wall facing east, offering views in all directions. There are also plenty of alpine plants.

Koshoji Temple

According to legend, it was founded during the Fujiwara Hidehira era, when an Amida-do hall was built for the Horiko clan who produced gold. After that, it was burnt down, relocated and rebuilt, and burned down repeatedly, but the Amida Sanzon (a prefecturally designated cultural property) surprisingly survived. The main image of Amida Nyorai is made of marquetry, and the side Buddha statue is made of a single piece of wood, both of which were made in the late Heian period. It also has a deep relationship with Hiraizumi.

Goyoyama

A mountain with an altitude of 1,351m and semi-plain terrain. It is the highest mountain in the prefecture that is closest to the sea, and the view from the top is great, allowing you to see the entire Sanriku sea. The azaleas are beautiful in the spring and the rhododendrons in the summer, and there is a virgin forest of Japanese cypress trees near the mountaintop, and it has been designated as a prefectural natural park, home to Japanese macaques and the northernmost Japanese deer. It takes about 2 hours to reach the summit from Akasaka Pass, the most popular trailhead. [Mountain opening] April 29th every year

Sennin Pass

This is a deep green mountain pass on National Route 283, on the border with Tono City. A monument to Kenji Miyazawa's poetry has been installed in the square at the entrance of Sennin Tunnel Kamaishi. In addition, the famous water ``Sennin Hisui'' is produced here. Yakushi Park

This park is located on a hill in the city center, offering a panoramic view of the city and Kamaishi Bay. Inside the park, there is a statue of a woman erected to comfort the spirits of war victims and pray for peace, as well as a monument commemorating Yosuke Takahashi, who devoted himself to the development of the Kamaishi Steel Works. Approximately 200 cherry trees are in full bloom in spring.

Ryushoji Temple Holy Kannon

A Kannon statue with a stern yet gentle ocean-like expression. It was created by Izumi no kami of Kanda, who brought it by ship from Edo during the Tenmei era about 200 years ago.

Denen Hall (Yahaba Town Cultural Center)

It was built in 1990 as the prefecture's first music hall. It has a seating capacity of 808 people, with four seats for the disabled, six seats for mothers and children, and headphones for the hard of hearing. It is used not only for music, but also for plays, ceremonies, etc.
