⑫ Kawamura Sake Brewery (Hanamaki City)

A sake brewery founded in 1923, located in Ishidoriya-cho, Hanamaki City, which flourished as the village of Nanbu brewers since the Nanbu domain era. “Nanbu Seki,” a collection of spirit and pride that has inherited the tradition of Nambu Toji, is the brewery’s representative brand. Another popular sake is the limited edition Yoemon, which is named after the founder Yoemon Kawamura in order to return to the roots of sake brewing and strive to make good sake.

⑬ Kikumori Sake Brewery (Kitakami City)

Founded in 1898. Representative brands include “Kikumori,” named after the third-generation brewer, Kyuki Fujimura, and “Onikenbu.” In addition, “Taxi Driver”, a junmai sake made to attract the interest of the younger generation, is gaining popularity. The name of the sake comes from the title of the movie. Not only is it delicious, but it is also a Japanese sake, and its innovative name and label have made it popular. ”

⑭ Kamihei Sake Brewery (Tono City)

Founded in 1789 in Kagimachi, Tono City (currently near Chuo-dori, Tono City). In Tono, a place rich in nature, we use underground water from the foot of Mt. Rokkakuushi, one of the three mountains of Tono. We have a variety of products including the representative brand “Kokuka no Kaoru” and Tono Yume Kaido. We also produce ZUMONA Beer, a beer made with Tono hops.

Double Gold Award in the Sake Category of the 2021 San Francisco International Wine Competition

Iwate Meijo is committed to maintaining a close relationship with the local community, saying, “As much as possible, we use locally produced sake rice to make sake.” The sake rice is also grown by contracted farmers. Thanks to our collaboration with many people, we have won numerous awards. ⑯ Seki no Ichi Sake Brewery (Ichinoseki City)

A historic brewery that has been around since the Edo period. We use the rich water that springs from the Ou Mountains and carefully selected sake rice to make sake that pleases our customers. As the name suggests, “We aim to make the best sake that makes people happy.” In addition to traditional sake brewing, we also create new types of sake to create sake that pleases everyone.

⑰ Ryowa Sake Brewery (Hiraizumi Town)

A brand that received the mountain name “Sekiyama” of Chusonji Temple.

Founded in 1945. Ryowa Sake Brewery’s main brand is “Sekizan”, which has the same name as the mountain name of Chusonji Temple in Hiraizumi, a world heritage site. The sake created by Nanbu’s chief brewer has won the Gold Award at the National Sake Awards for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2012.

Founded in 1919. Since its founding in 1854, Izumikane Sake Brewery has continued to brew sake in harmony with Iwaizumi’s rich natural climate. Using water from the Ryusendo Cave underground lake for brewing and carefully selected sake rice, the techniques of Nambu brewers are passed down to this day. It has received high praise at numerous competitions, including the Gold Award at the National New Sake Awards and the French Sake Master Competition.

Sake brewing process

Hamachidori has won numerous awards since its establishment in 1923. Located in Kamaishi City, it uses the famous Sennin secret water from the Kamaishi Mine and underground water from the Kitakami Mountains. The company name “Hama Chidori” is inspired by the plovers that flock to the beaches of the Sanriku coast. We also practice sake brewing that is closely tied to the region, such as preparing locally produced sake for local consumption.
