Yukitani River Dam Forest Park Karumai

Sake Folk Culture Museum

Seki no Ichi Sake Brewery was named by Emperor Meiji's younger brother, Prince Kanin, who said, ``Make good sake that will please the people of the world.'' The ``Sake Folk Culture Museum'' inside is made up of valuable earthen storehouses that still retain traces of the time of its founding. The two-story wooden storehouse is the largest in Tohoku. Inside, some of the more than 1,600 sake-making tools are on display. You can also see the brewer's room, which enshrines Matsuo Daimyojin, the god of sake, and materials related to the production of rice, which is essential for sake. In 2006, the ``Ichinoseki Literature Storehouse'' was opened to honor 12 writers associated with Ichinoseki.

Southern Katafuji Lake (Yoshida Dam)

A dam lake created by damming the Kitakami River. The dam side is 50m high and 480m long. Mt. Iwate (also known as Southern Katafuji) is reflected on the surface of the lake. 30 minutes by bus from Morioka Station.

Mizusawa Park

It is said that the landscaping of Mizusawa Park was done in 1888 by the wandering painter and landscape architect Minomushi Sanjin. Today, Mizusawa Park is filled with more than 500 cherry blossom trees, and in particular, the cluster of 300-year-old Higanzakura trees has been designated as a natural monument by the prefecture. There is also a bronze statue of Saito Minoru in the park. It is a popular place for residents to relax throughout the year.

Kuzumaru River Stream

Reverse Hiba

Nakano Shirataki

Nakano Shirataki is a two-tiered waterfall, with the upper waterfall measuring 27 meters high and 8 meters wide, and the lower waterfall measuring 6 meters high and 12 meters wide. There is also a promenade leading from the waterfall to the sea, where you can enjoy hiking.

Fuefuki Pass

Takizawa Otaki

Yamato no Oka Forest Park

Yamato-no-oka Forest Park is located halfway up Mt. Kujihiradake. Inari hole
