Mt. Haradai

Altitude: 894.7m. The summit, which is flat from north to south, offers views of Mt. Hikami and the Pacific Ocean to the east, Mt. Omori and Mt. Murone on the border of Miyagi Prefecture to the south, and the mountains of Kurikoma Quasi-National Park to the west in the distance.

Miwamori Park

Located west of Mizusawa, Green Hill Miibumori is like a nature park with athletic courses and nature trails utilizing the gentle hilly terrain. Fureai Land Iwaizumi

*Closed for reopening. (scheduled to open in May 2025) "Fureai Rando Iwaizumi" has an auto campsite, cottages and trailer houses, a barbecue plaza, an artificial slope for sled riding, playground equipment, and a plaza, where families can relax and play in the great outdoors. Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of a train trip on the "Blue Train Nihonkai," where sleeping carriages can be used as accommodations in the same condition as when they were operated.

Yaishishidake

The Yakeishi Mountain Range occupies the northern part of Kurikoma National Park and has 13 peaks over 1,000 meters high. Yakeishi-dake, which rises 1,548 meters above sea level, is the leader of this mountain range. It has the most lingering snow in the prefecture, and marshlands and ponds are found throughout the area. It is said that more than 300 species of alpine plants grow here, and the vegetation is diverse. In addition to the Nakanuma Course and Tsubunuma Course, there is also a traverse course leading to Mt. During the winter, National Route 397 is closed to the trailhead. Yakeishidake on the first Sunday in June.

Inaniwa Highlands

A grassland that spreads out at the base of Mt. Inaniwa. The path through the virgin beech forest is perfect for forest bathing. A sea of ​​green grass sways in the wind. Cows and horses are grazing leisurely. Such refreshing scenery refreshes both mind and body. Time seems to move slowly here.

Narushima Washi Crafts Museum

The Narushima Washi Crafts Museum is a production base for Narushima Washi, the northernmost Japanese paper in Japan, and a facility for experiencing paper making. Everything about Narushima Washi is concentrated in the museum, and you can experience the culture of Washi that has been handed down since ancient times in Japan. Additionally, during the winter when paper making is in full swing, you can also observe the paper making process.

Towa B&G Marine Center

Lake Tase, with its gentle waves, is an ideal environment for water sports. The Marine Center is designed with consideration for the surrounding landscape and environmental preservation, with a seawall design made of natural stone piled up on top of each other. Instructors are stationed at the facility, making it easy for even beginners to enjoy sailing and canoeing. In addition, the facility has been used as a venue for inter-high school rowing competitions and has been selected as a training camp for the Sydney Olympics rowing competitions, earning it a high reputation among experts. Tase Fishing Park

Lake Tase is known as a treasure trove of freshwater fish, including carp and crucian carp. Taking advantage of this abundant resource, the fishing park has been developed as a facility where families can casually enjoy fishing. The fishing pond in the park allows visitors to enjoy fishing to their heart's content, while boat rides on the Jabu-Jabu Pond and a restaurant featuring local ingredients make it the perfect place for families looking to spend a day of fun together. Taniuchi Densho Kobokan

In addition to experiencing traditional snack making, making straw and bamboo crafts, and making soba noodles, there is also a kitchen. (Reservation required)

Sakiori tradition museum

The ``Sakiori Folklore Museum'' has been set up as a facility to experience and pass on ``Sakiori,'' a technique that has been passed down in this region since before the Meiji era, by tearing old cloth and using it for the weft and weaving it into the warp using a loom. . There are 13 weaving machines in the museum, and even beginners can easily enjoy saki-weaving while receiving guidance, as well as displaying and selling saki-ori products.
