Iwate Prefectural Children’s Center “Iwate Children’s Forest”

Surrounded by a beautiful beech forest in Okunakayama, Ichinohe Town, Iwate Children's Forest is an experiential children's center that fosters surprises and encounters that children experience through a variety of games. The 30-hectare grounds include indoor facilities such as the conical "Hello House" and "Go Go House," as well as an all-weather campfire field and outdoor facilities, so both children and adults can relax and enjoy themselves. It can also be used for accommodation, meetings, training, etc.

Roadside Station Shizukuishi Anekko [Hashiba Onsen] (Day trip bathing facility)

Hashiba Onsen (simple alkaline spring) has a sauna and open-air bath, so you can enjoy a day trip bath. In addition, there is a rest room, training room, herb garden, and auto campsite.

Toriyagasaki Park

Hanamaki Castle, called Toriyazaki Castle in ancient times, is said to have been the home of the Abe clan in the 10th century. Today, the west gate has been restored and the ruins of the castle are being developed into a park. Creative Farmer Cosmos

We have been closed indefinitely since 2024. We sell fresh vegetables from the field behind the farm, old-fashioned handmade sweets, and cereal red rice, among other products. In the adjoining farmhouse restaurant, you can enjoy seasonal dishes, hittsumisu, and handmade sweets.

Takamatsu Park (Takamatsu Pond)

Takamatsu-no-ike Pond is a dike that was built in the 1660s for flood control in Morioka. There were four such levees called "Ueda no Tsutsumi," one of which is now Takamatsu no Ike. It is also a place of recreation and relaxation for citizens in all four seasons, with boating in summer, autumn foliage in fall, and swans in winter. Sakuramatsu Park

The old shrine building of Sakuramatsu Shrine is located under the quay adjacent to Fudo Falls. Within the precincts, there is a ``Marriage Tree'' where two trees are tied together, and a watermill that was relocated from the village, and you can take a leisurely stroll along the promenade along the mountain stream in about 30 minutes. Yonai Water Purification Plant

The city's water purification plant, located in Kamihonai on the outskirts of Morioka City, is also known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, and during this season, the grounds are specially opened to the public. About 30 Yaeveni weeping cherry trees are designated as city-designated preserved trees, and the sight of them in full bloom is truly spectacular, as if to show the dignity of the queen of cherry trees. The red brick building of the water purification plant also adds to the beauty of the cherry blossoms. Shiroyama Park

Shiroyama Park is a small hill in the center of the town. It is said that the Takamizuji Castle, the residence of the Shiba clan, was built here during the medieval period, making it a site of great historical value. In spring, the park is decorated with approximately 2,000 cherry trees, so much so that the entire hill looks cherry blossom-colored when viewed from a short distance away.
